Fog City

Comments Off on Fog City San Francisco

We spent our last day in San Francisco wandering around; stopping in at Bookshops, visiting Chinatown, and checking out the waterfront. We took in the impressive SF MOMA, and ended our day at the Carnelian Lounge, 52 floors up, sipping cocktails (Sheina – where were you? – G), watching the sunset and the fog rolling in over the bay and Golden Gate bridge.

Greetings from Tokyo

that’s me… contemplating the jump, but it’s such a beautiful day!

After a solid 12 hours sleep, I woke up rubbing my eyes …. And not quite knowing where I was. Our room is traditional Japanese, and as we slide open the paper screens and look out across the San Francisco bay on a perfect 20 degree day …. it suddenly clicks we are in America not downtown Japan.
We rented bicycles from Blazing saddles and blazed our way across the bay, over the golden gate, to Sausalito, and wound our way up through a small mill town in search of giant redwoods. We almost got there, but gill piked, so we did an about turn and caught the Tiburon ferry back across the bay to San Francisco, huddled up on the top deck, shivering, as the sun set over the golden gate bridge.
